Day 6- Dancing!

Today we had to be up early again for our 2nd day of class. It went by a little bit faster than Friday but was still very long. During our break today, Jenny needed to exchange some dollars for euros so we waited in line at the bank for almost 15 min and only to find out you cannot exchange money without a passport. So that was a waste, and since it took so long we had only about 5 min to get back to class. However, due to the some citizens not getting paid (from what I gathered), there have been protests throughout the city and of course we got caught in one on our way back to class. So we were a little bit late :(

Finally class ended, just as I was about to fall asleep. We went to the tech guy to help us figure out the WIFI there at the center and also asked him about the WIFI in our house too. He helped us with the problems we were having there but could not really give us any insight as to why we are having problems in our casa. Since that took a good chuck of time it was already siesta, so our plan to get our schoolbooks was a no-go since the store is closed from 2 until 5! So we had to go get them later tonight.

Today we were finally able to find our way to and from our casa with out a map!! It was very nice to not look like such tourists for once ☺ we were also able to take a few pictures on our way too, just so we can remember what we were walking by every day!

We had our first taller de sevillanas tonight! Which is learning the native Sevillian style of dance! (not to be confused with flamenco) We have those classes every Monday and Wednesday from 8-9. It goes by fast and it is in un patio of CC-CS (so its kind of inside but doesn’t have a roof, very common in Spanish homes) and many of my new friends (and Regina and Jenny to name a few) are in it too, which makes it even more enjoyable.

When we got home María was making us hamburgesas tonight! Ha they were huge! Chata made the patties earlier and she told María that she wanted to make sure we did not get hungry. Ha she is just like every parent or grandparent-- wants to make sure we are eating enough :) They were very juicy but still doesn’t taste like the ones from home… neither does the ketchup! It was much darker than at home and had almost a smoky flavor. Not my favorite but good to say the least.

Tonight’s homework was the hardest by far. Neither of us could understand what was happening for an entire scene of the play we are reading. As the days go by, I am regretting taking that class more and more :( I think it is too late to switch too, so only 11 more days of this class (we are definitely counting down).
